As Principal of Kilbrittain National School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website.

This site has been designed to provide you with the information needed to gain an understanding of the ethos and vision for our school, get a taste of what life is like for our pupils and see the range of activities that take place throughout the year.

Kilbrittain N.S is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork and Ross. The school is situated in beautiful West Cork, between Bandon and Kinsale. We are a co-educational mainstream school with special classes.  We currently have 8 mainstream classes, as well as 4 Autism Specific Classes, including an Early Intervention class.

Kilbrittain N.S has a warm, friendly and vibrant atmosphere where the focus remains on developing the moral, spiritual, physical, academic, aesthetic and cultural aspect of each individual student.  We are fortunate to have access to an incredible woodland outdoor learning space in addition to access to our community Astro-Turf, a large hall and school campus.

Our school has become a centre of excellence for Special Education and in particular, inclusion, since we opened our first designated Autism Specific Class in 2012.  Since then our school numbers have grown to a current enrolment of 217 pupils. We are very proud to be a school for all, a school that treats everyone as equal and a school that strives to provide the very best education possible for all our students. 

I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge our wonderful team in Kilbrittain N.S..  We are an innovative school drawing on the talents and skills of our staff to provide an extensive range of opportunities.  Every member of our team strives every day to ensure all students are happy, cared for, valued and respected while delivering an exciting and structured educational programme.  We have an active and supportive Parent Association and wonderful community who collaborate with us to ensure our school is at the very heart of the vibrant village of Kilbrittain.
